Construction contracting rose 10% in March.
Driven by a surge of highway projects, the rise reversed declines in the previous two months, according to a survey by the F.W. Dodge division of McGraw-Hill Information Systems Co. It put the value of all newly started construction in March at $251 billion, compared to $227.6 billion in February.
