Point Park College, a downtown Pittsburgh school that doesn’t have its own home field, swept a doubleheader from Waynesburg College, 8-1 and 11-1, at Butler, Pa., to set a national collegiate baseball record of 36 consecutive victories.
The previous record of 34 victories in a row was established by Texas in 1977 and tied by David Lipscomb College in 1984.
