Maritz Tied for 2nd in Golf Tournament

Laurette Maritz of United States International University was tied for second after Monday’s first round in the Lady Sundevil Tournament at Anasazi Country Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Maritz, the NCAA’s No. 1-ranked woman golfer, and Karen Davies of Florida each shot 72, one stroke behind Pearl Sinn of Arizona State.
No. 1-ranked Arizona State led the team standings with a score of 298, eight strokes ahead of second-place USIU.
