A pedestrian crossing a Stanton street was killed when he was hit first by a motorcycle and then a pickup truck, authorities said Monday.
Hilario Hernandez, 27, of Stanton, was struck by a motorcycle as he attempted to cross Beach Boulevard near Plaza Way at 9:26 p.m. Sunday, Stanton Police Officer Bill Hill said. Hernandez was knocked down and struck again by a red-over-white pick-up truck that did not stop, Hill said.
Hernandez, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident, Hill said. The motorcyclist who stopped to aid the injured man was not arrested or cited, Hill said, and an investigation is continuing.
