Charter Hospital of San Diego, a unit of a Macon, Ga.-based chain of psychiatric hospitals, announced plans to build an 80-bed psychiatric hospital on a five-acre site that it acquired recently in the Carmel Mountain Ranch area of San Diego for $2.6 million. Charter Hospital has not yet announced when it will begin construction, said brokers at Grubb & Ellis and John Burnham & Co. who handled the land sale.
