WOODBURY, N.J. — A flight attendant and a passenger on a commuter airplane were slightly injured when the pilot made a sharp turn to avoid a military transport jet, officials said Thursday.
The incident occurred Wednesday about six miles northeast of McGuire Air Force Base in southern New Jersey, base spokesman Lt. Michael Murk said.
The pilot of the Pan Am Express commuter plane said Air Force controllers did not report that radar showed two planes in the area, Pan Am spokesman Alan Loflin said. The National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration and Air Force officials are investigating.
