San Diego Hotel Construction Under Way

Santa Fe Pacific Realty Corp. has started construction on the 335-unit Embassy Suites hotel near Seaport Village in San Diego.
Scheduled to open in fall 1988, the hotel is being built on a 1.4-acre site on Pacific Highway at Market Street for an estimated $40 million. The all-suites hotel will have 12 guest floors above 2 1/2 levels of commercial and guest- support spaces, including a restaurant and lounge, meeting rooms and an exercise room and sauna.
Santa Fe serves as the developing partner and Embassy Suites Inc. is the hotel’s operator and manager. New York-based C. Itoh Real Estate Investment Corp. is providing financing.
