Douglas Aircraft Co. said that if Finland’s national airline exercises both options, the deal will be worth about $400 million. The MD-11 is Douglas’ new generation of jumbo jetliner, an advanced version of the company’s DC-10. The MD-11 is more fuel-efficient and can carry more passengers over longer distances. To date, 17 customers have agreed to buy or take options on 119 of the planes from the Long Beach-based unit of McDonnell Douglas.
