2 AF Sergeants Jailed in Slaying
WASHINGTON — Two Air Force sergeants have been arrested in England and await a court-martial on murder charges in the stabbing death of a third sergeant whose body was found on a country roadside 11 days ago, the Air Force said today.
Master Sgt. Lawrence Fetrel, 35, of Mitchell, S.D., a supply chief for the 6952nd Electronic Security Squadron at the British base of Alconbury, was found dead of multiple stab wounds along a road in Eaton Socon, Cambridgeshire, about 2 a.m. March 22. Staff Sgts. Keith Poertner, 31, of Gerald, Mo., and Garry Groveman, 25, of Levittown, N.Y., were arrested and charged with premeditated murder and aggravated assault, the Air Force said.
