Fireworks Blamed for Anaheim Fire
A fire started by youngsters playing with fireworks bought in Mexico burned through the roof of an apartment building Tuesday in Anaheim, officials said.
“It was a large apartment complex. It could have been a dandy,†Anaheim Fire Marshal Mike Doty said.
But the blaze was detected early, and damage was contained to a 4-by-10-foot hole in the roof, officials said. Damage was estimated at $3,500.
The fire in the 1200 block of South Brookhurst Street was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured, fire officials said.
