“The Toscanini Legacy,†a collection of personal papers and memorabilia that promises to shed new light on the conductor, will soon be available for study at the New York Public Library, the New York Times reported Monday. The Arturo Toscanini archive, which includes unreleased scores and recordings, rare film footage and the conductor’s markings in composers’ scores, has been kept in the library basement for nearly two decades while the terms of its disposition were debated. The collection covers nearly every phase of Toscanini’s career.
