The federal trial in Jacksonville, Fla., of Carlos Lehder, suspected of being a Colombian drug czar, has been delayed until May, officials said. A pretrial hearing scheduled before U.S. Magistrate Harvey Schlesinger was also delayed at the request of defense lawyer Michael Weatherby and was reset for April 9. The new trial date is May 18. Lehder is being held under tight security in Atlanta while awaiting trial on charges of conspiring to import cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and operating a continuing criminal operation.
