Temple City : Adult Store to Stay Closed
The city has won a temporary victory in its bid to permanently shut down Video Flicks, an adult business on East Las Tunas Drive that sells books, magazines and videotapes.
Under terms of a preliminary injunction issued by Pasadena Superior Court Judge Melvin E. Grover, the business, which was shut down in September, will remain closed until suits between the city and the store’s operator, A & G Books and Videos Inc., are settled, said City Atty. Charles Martin.
Martin said the city shut down the business only a few weeks after it opened last summer because zoning laws prohibit adult businesses on Las Tunas Drive. A & G is challenging the zoning restrictions. No date has been set for the preliminary hearing.
