MGM/UA joined 2 other studios in a China venture.

The Beverly Hills-based entertainment company announced that it has joined Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios in their year-old agreement with China Film Corp. to distribute the companies’ movies in the People’s Republic of China. The first film--Paramount’s “Love Story”--is scheduled for release in Chinese theaters today. MGM/UA said it has also joined the two studios in a previously announced deal to license two hours of television weekly to China’s national television network.
