Elvis Costello will follow his unorthodox 1986 tour, which included a freewheeling five-night engagement last October at the Beverly Theatre, with another unusual tour: This one will stop only at college campuses. Costello and fellow English rocker Nick Lowe will play their only Los Angeles-Orange County area date on April 17 at the Bren Events Center at UC Irvine. They’ll also perform April 18 at San Diego State University, according to an Avalon Attractions spokesman. Tickets for the UC Irvine concert go on sale Friday at 3 p.m. at Ticketron outlets and the Bren Center box office.
