World champion Peter Mueller easily won his third World Cup downhill of the season, leading a Swiss sweep of the top four positions on Canada’s Olympic mountain in Calgary.
Mueller, who won the world downhill championship last month at Crans-Montana, Switzerland, flawlessly glided through the 40 gates on the 1.4-mile Olympic course at Mt. Allan in 1:44.32, almost two seconds ahead of teammate Franz Heinzer’s 1:46.15.
Daniel Mahrer was third in 1:46.18. Karl Alpiger completed the Swiss domination of the final downhill of the World Cup season, placing fourth in 1:46.24.
