The center has received more than $6.3 million in private funds and $1.2 million in public monies since it began, enabling it to sponsor several research scholars each year, as well as publish monographs and papers and hold summer seminars for journalists and leaders concerning U.S.-Mexico problems.

Part of the Ford Foundation grant will be used to study the effects of the new U.S. immigration law that became effective this year.
