Pasadena : New NAACP Vote Ordered

The national board of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People has ordered the Pasadena chapter to hold a new election for president because of irregularities in the chapter’s last vote in December.
Two-term President Stephen Mack won the election over challenger John Kennedy by 4 votes out of 349 cast. But Mack said Kennedy later contested the vote, saying that some ballots were improperly disqualified and that the voting did not take place for the required six hours. No date has been set for the new election.
