Mater Dei Finishes Season No. 1 in Poll
Mater Dei High School finished No. 1 in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. poll for the sixth straight season.
The Monarchs’ only 1986-87 loss was to Flint Hill Preps of Oakton, Va., in the King Cotton Classic at Pine Bluff, Ark.
Katella, making its 21st consecutive playoff appearance, finished second.
