Stamp Honors Julia Howe, Lyricist of ‘Battle Hymn’

WATERTOWN, Mass. — Julia Ward Howe, who wrote the words to “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and was an early advocate of creating a Mother’s Day holiday, has been honored by the U.S. Postal Service with issuance of a 14-cent stamp.
