The Soviet Union is favored to withstand pressure from East Germany and West Germany and dominate this week’s World biathlon meet in Lake Placid. N.Y.
The biathlon event, which combines cross-country skiing and rifle marksmanship, will run today through Sunday at the Olympic Sports Complex at Mount Van Hoevenberg.
