Orange County Prep Soccer : Bishop Montgomery and Mater Dei in Scoreless Tie

Mater Dei and Bishop Montgomery high schools battled to a 0-0 overtime tie in an Angelus League boys’ soccer match Saturday at Torrance.
Goalie Colin Douglass had 10 saves for Bishop Montgomery, and Mike Reis had 10 saves for the Monarchs. Mater Dei is 11-1-1 in league and 18-2-1 overall.
Servite 2, St. Paul 1--The Friars’ Rhett Harty scored with 30 seconds remaining in the second overtime for the victory at Servite. St. Paul (4-9, 4-12-1) scored first on a goal by Xavier Daga, eight minutes into the second half.
Servite (7-6, 9-11) tied the score on Greg Coleman’s goal off an assist from Mike Alberts at the 38-minute mark. Goalie Dan Ramsey had five saves for St. Paul, and Geoff Moore had four for Servite.
In the Olympic League:
Brethren 1, Whittier Christian 0--Derek Scott scored with seven minutes left to give Brethren the victory at home. Whittier Christian is 8-1-1. Brethren is 4-4-2. Rhett Nichol had 12 saves for the Warriors in recording his sixth shutout. Brethren used only 10 players the last 11 minutes after Paul Cooper was ejected with a red card.
