In a change of program, J. David Farmer, director of the University Art Museum at UC Santa Barbara, will speak at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Newport Harbor Art Museum.
Willy Van Den Bussche, curator of the Provincial Museums of West Flanders in Belgium, had been scheduled to speak but was forced to cancel because of illness.
Farmer’s topic will be James Ensor, an important Flemish symbolist artist whose work is featured in the current Newport Harbor exhibit, “Flemish Expressions: Representational Painting in the 20th Century.”
