Padres Sign Dravecky to 1-Year Deal

SAN DIEGO — The Padres announced Friday night that they have signed left-handed pitcher Dave Dravecky to a one-year contract.
The contract is worth an estimated $510,000. Dravecky had asked for $535,000 and the Padres had offered $450,000.
Dravecky, who was bothered by tendinitis in his pitching arm last summer, finished the season with an 9-11 record and a 3.07 earned-run average in 26 games. He did not pitch after Aug. 26.
Dravecky was one of five Padres to apply for salary arbitration this winter. Only fellow starting pitcher Andy Hawkins has yet to sign a new deal. Storm Davis, Marvell Wynne and Craig Lefferts have already signed with the club.
