Three players on the University of Connecticut basketball team have been ruled academically ineligible for the rest of the season, Coach Jim Calhoun confirmed.
The already undermanned team, 6-10 overall and 1-6 in the Big East Conference, lost sophomore starters Cliff Robinson and Phil Gamble along with reserve Robert Ursery. Guard Terry Coffey also did not regain the eligibility he lost last season.
