After a high-speed chase by car and on foot, police arrested a Placentia man Sunday afternoon on suspicion of robbing a Fullerton card store, authorities said.
Police arrested Ralph Daniel Sharpe, 37, after he allegedly forced a clerk at Farrs Hallmark Store in the 100 block of North Raymond Street to the floor and then stole an unspecified amount of money from the cash register, Fullerton Police Lt. Bob Bray said.
The man ran from the store and escaped in a Mustang, which a police cruiser spotted as it drove onto the 57 Freeway, Bray said. An officer followed the car as it left the freeway and chased Sharpe on foot through a residential neighborhood in Placentia. Sharpe was arrested by Placentia police and was in custody in Fullerton City Jail.
