Nude Man Dies in Freeway Leap

A nude man leaped to his death this morning from the Vermont Avenue overpass onto the southbound Hollywood Freeway and was struck by several cars, the California Highway Patrol reported.
There was no indication of why he jumped. The CHP said the unidentified victim, with his clothes bundled under one arm, jumped into the outside lane at 6:08 a.m. It took more than an hour to clear the lane, causing freeway traffic to back up for 10 miles, into the San Fernando Valley.
