A former San Bernardino County deputy sheriff, convicted of having sex with an underage department volunteer last year, has been charged with offering bribes to two officers to obtain information from the sheriff’s computer files. The information allegedly sought by Robert Swindle, 31, is unrelated to a case in which he was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor working as a volunteer in the Victorville sheriff’s substation, according to investigators. Swindle, fired from the Sheriff’s Department last March after being investigated for sexual misconduct, was working as a process server for an attorney when he allegedly offered the bribes.
