The two remaining victims of a quadruple homicide last month have been tentatively identified by the San Diego County coroner’s office.
They are Esthela Benitez, 25, and Augustin Farfan, age unknown, said Deputy Coroner Robert Grubb. Both were from Mexico, he said.
An unidentified man, who suffered gunshot wounds to the stomach during the attack, remained at an undisclosed hospital in serious but stable condition. The other two victims were tentatively identified as Miguel Martinez Vasquez, 20, of Mexico City, and Enrique Mejia Beltran, 25.
All of the dead victims were shot in the head and the torso by two gunmen, homicide detectives said. Three of them died at the scene and Farfan died later at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
Detectives said that two armed men entered the College Grove home in the early morning hours on Dec. 28 and demanded money. A short time later the assailants shot their victims, ransacked the home and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police said they still have not ruled out that the slayings also could have involved illegal narcotics, although they declined to say if any drugs were found at the house.
One of the gunmen has been described as Latino, about 23 years old, 5-foot-8 and about 175 pounds. He has a mustache, a light beard and short black hair. The other is described as white, 22 to 24 years old, 5-foot-5 and about 110 pounds. He has a slight mustache and straight, shoulder-length hair.
