Fullerton Is Now Trying for 9 Out of 10
STOCKTON — Cal State Fullerton, winner of eight of its last nine games, tries to complete an already successful trip tonight at 7:30 when it meets the University of the Pacific in UOP’s Spanos Center.
The Titans (1-0, 8-2) opened Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. play Saturday by doing what was once unthinkable--embarrassing Fresno State in Selland Arena. Juniors Henry Turner and Richard Morton had 18 points each to lead the Titans to a 65-47 victory. It was Fresno’s worst PCAA defeat at home since a 92-72 loss to Cal State Long Beach in 1973.
Pacific (1-0, 5-5) opened PCAA play at home Friday with a 59-57 win over UC Santa Barbara. Junior forward Christian Gray worked his way inside for a layup in the final seconds to give the Tigers the victory. Gray led the Tigers with 24 points.
