What’s Closed on New Year’s Day

All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed Thursday, New Year’s Day.

City libraries, swimming pools and lakes will be closed, but some recreation centers may be open. County-operated Lake Morena will be open, as will city, county and federal parks.

State historic parks will be closed, but other state parks will be open.

City parking meters will not be enforced, post offices and banks will be closed, and trash collections will be made a day late.

City landfills also will be closed.

Most area shopping centers will be closed, including Grossmont Center, Horton Plaza and Fashion Valley. However, North County Fair, Parkway Plaza and some stores in Mission Valley Center will be open.
