Fullerton : Businesses Solicited to Fund War Memorial
A club spearheading a fund-raising drive to build a memorial for Fullerton servicemen has sent more than 6,000 letters to local businesses and community groups, asking for donations.
“We hope the business community will join us in this effort to honor the memory of the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom,†said Dotti Keegan, chairwoman of the Fullerton Emblem Club 469 War Memorial Project.
In cooperation with the city’s Community Services Department, the club hopes to raise $30,000 to pay for a granite monument in Hillcrest Park listing the names of every Fullerton resident killed in World Wars I and II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars.
