Gull in Jet Engine Aborts Flight; Plane Lands Safely

CHICAGO — A United Airlines flight returned to O’Hare International Airport on Friday, when a sea gull was sucked into one of the jet’s engines shortly after takeoff, authorities said. There were no injuries, and the 97 people aboard the Boeing 737 resumed their trip to New Orleans on another plane, an airline spokesman said.
