Local News in Brief : Drunk Driving Suspect Held in Friend’s Death

An alleged drunk driver was arrested on suspicion of murder after his car hit a fence and burst into flames Sunday, killing a passenger, police said.
Russell Graham, 31, of Sun Valley and his passenger, Dale West, 33, of North Hollywood were traveling northbound on Arleta Avenue near Roscoe Boulevard at 94 to 116 m.p.h., authorities said.
According to traffic Detective Frank Rodriguez, Graham’s car caught fire after crashing into the Polytechnic High School fence, killing West.
West was pronounced dead at the scene and Graham, who suffered multiple fractures, was treated at USC Medical Center jail ward where he is being held, Rodriguez said.
