Temple City : Hearing on Video Arcade
A preliminary hearing on a lawsuit filed by A&G; Books and Videos, which owns Video Flicks at 9549 E. Las Tunas Drive, and a countersuit filed by Temple City will be held Dec. 19 in Pasadena Superior Court.
The city has already obtained a temporary restraining order that closed Video Flicks last month.
Last summer the company applied for a general retail sales license and opened in September as an adult-oriented business with a video arcade that included locked booths in the back of the store, said Katherine Stone, an attorney representing the city.
The company, in its suit, claims that a city ordinance prohibiting adult businesses in the area is unconstitutional. Temple City, in its countersuit, contends that the company is in violation of municipal zoning codes.
