Reagan and the Unfolding Iran-Contra Story

My teen-aged son noticed my apoplexy as I read the headlines. “What’s wrong, Mom?� he asked.

“Just look at this,� I said, waving, “Reagan calls North a hero.�

“North, North, isn’t he the guy who was fired?� Willy asked. “Who fired him?�

“Reagan did, I presume. It’s his Administration, after all,� I replied.

Willy: “I don’t get it. If North is supposed to be a hero, then why was he fired?�

Good question. I don’t get it either.
