Prep Soccer : Ronca, Meredith and Astrand Lead Dana Hills Over Brea

Mike Ronca, Jeff Meredith and Chris Astrand each scored goals Tuesday to lead the Dana Hills High School boys’ soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Brea-Olinda in the nonleague season opener on the Wildcats’ Field at Brea.
Ronca scored five minutes into the match on an unassisted goal, Meredith scored on a header off a corner kick 10 minutes into the second half, and Astrand scored off a Ronca assist 15 minutes into the second half.
In other nonleague action:
Katella 2, Western 1--Ted Brown and Richard Castro each scored goals in the first half to lead the Knights past the Pioneers at Western High School.
Orange 0, Santa Ana 0--The Panthers and the Saints played to a scoreless tie in the season opener at Orange High School.
In girls’ soccer:
Pacifica 2, Rancho Alamitos 0--Devon Fitzpatrick, a sophomore midfielder, scored two goals to lead Pacifica on the Vaqueros’ field in the season opener for both.
In other nonleague action:
San Clemente 2, Corona del Mar 0-Midfielder Holly Zell scored two goals, both on assists from Dallas Thole, for the Tritons on the Sea Kings’ field at Corona del Mar.
