Norwalk Seeks Two Leftover Caltrans Sites

NORWALK — The City Council will notify the state Department of Transportation about the possibility of purchasing two surplus properties no longer needed for the Century Freeway.
The council Monday proposed buying the land from Caltrans to relocate Norwalk residents whose properties may be displaced to make way for redevelopment projects.
One of the areas the city is studying for redevelopment is a triangular parcel with 13 homes near Rosecrans and Pioneer boulevards. The parcels were included in a survey area earlier this month.
The two empty lots the city is interested in buying are at 13433-13641 Behrens St. and 10503 Angell St.
