USD to Play Athletes in Action Tonight

SAN DIEGO — The University of San Diego men’s basketball team will open its season with an exhibition game at 7:30 tonight against the San Diego-based Athletes in Action in the USD Sports Center.
USD returns three starters--center Scott Thompson, forward Nils Madden and guard Paul Leonard--from last year’s 19-9 team, which finished third in the West Coast Athletic Conference.
AIA (2-3) has lost its last two games--to Point Loma Nazarene Tuesday and Texas Christian Thursday. AIA is led by former NBA guard Lorenzo Romar and former San Diego State guard, Zack Jones.
