Reserve setter Karen Langston led the Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team to a 15-10, 15-12, 15-3 victory Wednesday night over Cal State Bakersfield in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. match at Bakersfield.
Northridge, the NCAA Division II top-ranked team the past five weeks, is 10-0 in the CCAA, 26-4 overall. Bakersfield is 0-8, 5-18.
“She played well last night against Dominguez Hills, but tonight she was outstanding,” Northridge Coach Walt Ker said of Langston. “She’s got a very aggressive mentality.”
The win was 25th consecutive in the conference for CSUN, which will travel today to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., where they will play in the Premiere Tournament that begins Friday.
Seven of the nation’s top Division II teams, including defending national champion Portland State and No. 2-ranked UC Riverside, will compete in the three-day tournament.
