Mary Decker Slaney has decided to drop...
Mary Decker Slaney has decided to drop plans to compete in some road races this fall. Her coach, Luis de Oliveira, said Slaney won’t compete again until the 1987 Mobil Indoor Grand Prix circuit.
Slaney, 28, injured a foot while training for last month’s Fifth Avenue Mile in New York. She finished sixth in the race, her first competition since the birth of her daughter May 30.
De Oliveira said the injury isn’t serious, but it was enough to change her schedule.
