Community College Roundup : Rochaw Leads Orange Coast

Orange Coast College, helped by the setting and serving of Kim Rochaw, easily defeated Saddleback Wednesday, 15-5, 15-2, 15-5, in an Orange Empire Conference volleyball game at Saddleback.

Rochaw had 26 assists and served for 16 points in the second and third games. Hitters Karen Nickel had nine kills and Ann Javage six for Orange Coast (3-0, 7-2).

Saddleback is 0-3 in conference.

In South Coast Conference volleyball:

El Camino 3, Golden West 0--The Rustlers lost, 15-13, 15-2, 17-15, at El Camino. Golden West is 3-3 in conference, 6-3 overall. El Camino is 6-0, 9-0.

In nonconference water polo:

Saddleback 17, Cerritos 9--Keith Shore scored nine goals, Eric Long four and Bruce Orcutt two for the Gauchos (17-4-1) at Mission Viejo.

Long Beach City 14, Orange Coast 12--The Pirates’ Eric Keller scored seven goals but Orange Coast (21-4) fell short at home. Long Beach jumped to an 8-2 lead, but Orange Coast rallied to come within one goal, 13-12, with a minute left. OCC’s Chuck Leatherman added three goals. Long Beach City is 22-1.
