An estimated 1,200 people marched to a park across from the White House to protest U.S. military aid to Nicaraguan rebels and other Reagan Administration policies. The protest by the Coalition to Stop the U.S. War on Nicaragua brought participants from six states, Joanne Heifel, a coalition spokeswoman, said. “We believe Nicaragua should be given the right to self-determination, just as any country in the world . . .,â€she said.
