Bottles and Cans Banned From Big A, Convention Center
Containers such as bottles, cans and vacuum bottles will be legally banned from Anaheim Stadium, the Convention Center and any other city-owned arena beginning Nov. 13.
The Anaheim City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to amend a local ordinance to conform to its existing policy of banning containers.
Anaheim Stadium officials have banned such objects for years out of concern that bottles and other containers could be hurled, causing injuries to players and fans. The ordinance becomes effective in 30 days.
In a related action, the council also approved an ordinance banning alcoholic beverages at city golf courses. The vote was 4 to 0, with Councilman Ben Bay abstaining.
