Burkina Faso Leader Visits Moscow, Tripoli

OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso — President Thomas Sankara returned Monday from an official trip to the Soviet Union. On his way back from Moscow, he met with Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi.
It was Sankara’s first visit to the Kremlin since he took over this African nation, formerly Upper Volta, in a coup three years ago.
