Quarterback Partin Leads Mayfair Over Garden Grove

Mayfair High School quarterback Bob Partin ran for two touchdowns and threw for another Thursday night to lead the Monsoons to a 23-7 nonleague victory over Garden Grove at Bellflower High.

Partin’s first touchdown, which came on a 15-yard run, tied the score at 7-7 midway through the second quarter. Partin later scored on a one-yard run to give Mayfair the lead for good. In the fourth quarter, Partin completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Allen Trent, who had 5 receptions for 108 yards. Mayfair scored a safety when Garden Grove quarterback Henry Fournier was called for intentional grounding in the end zone.
