The Press and Terrorists
For years, I have shared Pfaff’s viewpoint on the press and terrorism. Of course, we all recognize the conflict that arises with our First Amendment when journalists are faced with an issue of how much (if any) of a terrorist incident to report. However, now the professional and moral obligation of freedom of the press is developing into a far greater moral obligation. It’s time the journalists of the world rallied to establish a code of reporting that will lead to the eradication of this horror. They are the only ones who have the power to stop it!
