Pershing Square Future

We enjoyed Sam Hall Kaplan’s article about the plans for Pershing Square (Aug. 31) and are pleased to know that so much careful planning is being done on its rehabilitation. Also relieved to realize that some of the original plans we had read about were not chosen.
He sounds like a man who likes parks. Now that more effort is being made to clean up MacArthur Park, is there by any chance any hope of getting city planners to think seriously about giving it back its once beautiful name of Westlake? Jack Smith tried hard a few years ago to get some interest developed in this, but I expect the time was not right. Perhaps you could be more successful!
