Jess Leverett, 15, a Sparks High School girl whose first name is Jessica, will become the first female to ever play high school football in Nevada--thanks to a special ruling from Gov. Richard Bryan.
The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Assn. had voted to change its rule against girls playing football on boys’ teams, but it took Gov. Bryan’s signing to make the rule take effect immediately.
