Five Killed in Head-on Crash

PASO ROBLES, Calif. — Five people died instantly this morning when their car crashed head-on with a tractor-trailer truck on Highway 46 about 20 miles southeast of Paso Robles, the San Luis Obispo Coroner’s office said.
Another man with major injuries was being transferred in critical condition to Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo, according to the California Highway Patrol. The truck driver was uninjured. The five dead were Mexican males, according to a spokeswoman for the coroner’s office.
